We are all familiar with Wikipedia, it’s 25 million articles and 100,000 active contributors, but have you heard of RxWiki?
RxWiki publishes news and maintains updated medication pages for prescription drugs, OTC and natural supplements. They claim to offer the most up-to-date information all in one place.
The content is created and edited only by licensed pharmacists. Following a crowdsourced model, they currently have nearly 72,000 pages indexed by Google.
Last week the site released an iPhone app which includes the ability to be alerted when a medication your follow has an update.
And for those who want their medication and health news in visual format, there is even a Pinterest page.
What are your thoughts? Can we trust a wiki for medical information?
